A Busy Little Bee!

I've been pretty busy lately, especially this week. I do like it that way, but I'm off work today and I certainly haven't taken that for granted. This week was a pretty great week despite the business. Last weekend I went home and it was really nice to get to spend what was really only 24 hours at home. I got to go to my home church and see lots of people that I love and miss. I also had an amazing Sunday lunch with my parents and David before they beat us both at monopoly deal.

Monday was the last event for Class 15' before bible study starts and we had a night of worship at the barn and then the freshman were able to sign up for small groups!!! I didn't find out who I was leading with or who was in my small group until about 10 on Thursday night and I am so excited. I am going to be co-leading with Sam Peters and I'm super excited about what the Lord has in store for our group! I'm a little nervous, but more excited to see the plans He has. We also had ice cream sundaes at the event, and who can say no to ice cream.
Tuesday we had a girls night for the Class 15' girls and we had cookie dough and watch Letters to Juliet. It is a cute movie, and it doesn't have anything inappropriate it it, which is really rare. It was pretty corny, which I'm not all about, but overall it was a good time with some great new friends.

Wednesday was the well and all the people on ministry teams had to bring something sweet. I kept changing my mind on  what I wanted to bring, because I worked that day and as I scanned different things I would want to bring that. I ended up making rice crispy treats, with the food club brand but they still turned out pretty well for 50 cents cheaper.

Thursday I felt like I was in elementary school again, because I forgot my lunch at home (even though I never even took my lunch in elementary school). After classes I got to go to Rise Up and hang out with the K-1 class and they are hilarious. One little girl looked at me and said "Your hair is a mess!" "You don't even have a brush." She then tried to fix my hair, which probably desperately needed it. All I could do was laugh at this first graders brutal honesty.

Friday I sat my alarm for ten so that I would be awake when Carly came over to watch Grey's Anatomy. It was such a good episode, and we really needed a good catch up date because she is even busier than I am so we don't have much time to hang out.

Cupcake Wars!

Monday night was cupcake wars and it was fantastic and gross at the same time. We play lots of relay games with the cupcakes such as pass a cupcake on a spoon, push the cupcake with your face, carry the cupcake on your head, and bobbing for cupcakes in batter! Then, we had an all out cupcake war which was a blast.

Me, Aimee, and Chelsea...please note that Aimee is much cleaner than we are and she has a chocolate bogger!

Roast and Cupcakes

I love not living in the dorm because your meals don't have to be the same thing all the time. While I was in the dorm my first two years I lived off chicken nuggets, spaghetti, and frozen pizza, and  occasionally had green beans from my grandmother or frozen veggies.  This wasn't too bad, but my freezer on my small dorm fridge either didn't freeze stuff so it would be mushy, or it would be freezer burnt. This was probably not very sanitary, but I'm not one to waste any food. This year we have actually had real homemade food, and our freezer actually works. Yesterday, I made a roast and it turned out pretty good. I bought the roast at work because they were on a really good sale at work (1.99 a pound). I poured a can of home grown tomatoes on top, with some onions, carrots, potatoes, pepper, and salt. Ashley and I had it for lunch, and there is still enough for at least 5 more meals. The roast was under $5 and the carrots were only $1.50, the potatoes were around $2 or $3 and the tomatoes were from the garden. A meal for the three of us that we can each have twice for under 10 dollars is pretty cheap and pretty tasty.

It doesn't look as appetizing
Naked Cupcakes

Tonight for the Class 15' event the Well is having Cupcake Wars, and not like the tv show. We are going to be playing relay games and dodge ball and such with the cupcakes and it's going to be so much fun! I'm super excited about it. I spent my morning making and icing 45 cupcakes for the event tonight, and it was very tempting not to eat one! I hope this event really reaches out to a lot of freshman, and they see the love of Christ through the other leaders and I even though we are playing with cupcakes!

3 Girls in a Little Blue House

We've been in our house for about 3 weeks now, and we finally feel at home and have everything in its place. I love our little house, it is the perfect size for the three of us. So here are some pictures of our new house.

Friends and Flowers

Wednesday night at the Well James spoke about our friends and the people that we are hanging out with. He spoke about Proverbs 13:20 "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm." The Lord has blessed me with some amazing friends, especially after I started college. Not only did God allow me to meet Jillian through preview freshman year and then meet Ashley and Chelsea through her and Class 13', but he also allowed me to meet many other amazing girls through the Well. Not only have I made many friends in college, my friendships from home have begun to grow stronger as well. Erin and I spent our entire lunch break talking about our future teaching careers and of course those certain boys in our lives who seem to be clones of one another. Then Ashely and I went to Eliza's and Jori's for some green beans and chicken casserole. I met Eliza last year, and we've gotten really close over the past year and I can't wait for all of the new adventures the two of us will be a part of. I've always kind of known of Jori, but I didn't really get to know her all that well until the ministry team retreat. I've learned that the two of us are both very scatter brained and maybe a little forgetful at times,  but I'm excited about this new friendship. Then, we picked up Carly and headed to James and Samantha's house for a girls night of nachos and cheese and journal making. This was a great way to spend the evening with my wonderful sisters in Christ. I thought to myself while I was stressing over my journal about how blessed I was to share an evening with amazing girls as a college student. We giggled and of course looked at Sam's wedding pictures then went to Menchie's for some amazing frozen yogurt. (I stole these pictures from Aimee's blog)
All the girls working on our journals! So much fun!

We were a little sneaky for part of the night!

At the beginning of our journal making girls night we all went around and told each other who our celebrity crush was and what our favorite flower was. My all time favorite flowers are pink and orange daisies. When I met David after Menchies he had bought me flowers while he was at work, and they were none other than pink and orange daisies.

The Swing of Things

I need to get in the habit of blogging once a day, because if I don't, when I do decide to blog I get this overwhelming feeling about what I should blog about. In the past few weeks I've moved into my new house, started my job in Jonesborough, began my Junior year of college, starting serving with the Class 15' ministry with the well, carried a lunch box to school, gone to an amazing and refreshing retreat with my ministry team, took part in a flash mob, kicked David's butt in Frisbee (OK, not really), payed my first official bill (and argued over the bill), had free barbs, read Go, Dog. Go!,  and lots more. I'm excited about this year, and it's finally starting to get into a routine. Last week I hadn't started my job, and there were a lot of back to school events with the Well going on.This week has been the first week of what exactly my semester will look like. I'm enjoying my classes, well all of them but one! My first week of work has went well so far, and the first Class 15' event was so fun! I'm excited about this semester and now that I've gotten in the swing of things I'm ready for what the Lord has in store for me!
