Wedding Bliss

Nathan was a groomsman in a wedding yesterday, and I got to be his date. One of his best friends, Tra got married at Still Hollow Farms. It is a beautiful and sweet little farm by the creek that made a perfect location for an outdoor Sunday wedding. I loved the little touches that the bride and groom   made to their wedding. They had a sweet and huge Mr. and Mrs. sign when you first walked onto the field where the wedding was .They had a sign with the names of those in the wedding party instead of programs. I liked it, and I think it's a great idea to save money. However, I'm the type that likes programs and I keep them for some odd reason. The colors were really pretty and complimented each other really well. The boys wore a light blue striped shirt and navy pants, and the girls wore beautiful lacy coral dresses.

Kimberly Perry is a really good friend of Aly's and Nathan got to escort her in the wedding!

The food was great at the wedding and it took place in a rustic but beautifully decorated pavilion like barn. They had vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet cake. I wanted the red velvet, but just barely missed it. The vanilla was super yummy though. After cake we finally got to do some dancing.
I was a little concerned that Nathan would have nothing to do with the dancing. We all know that I love to dance, and I was a little skeptical to scare him away. Much to my surprise he joined in and danced. He is no Mario Lopex, but I was impressed with the effort. Makayla and I got a kick out of him and Kenan shakin' it to the Macarena, who knew the boys had it in them.

Congratulations to Tra and Ally!

Sunday Funday

Sunday was a great summer day despite the rainy day. After church, we had roast, what more do you need on Sunday?? After lunch I spent the entire afternoon....really the entire afternoon working on my classroom rules poster. Don't ask me how I  managed that, but I did. I found the idea off of pinterest, but I added the "working minds".

After church Drew, Nathan, and Erin came over and we made a fire, roasted hot dogs and smores, played games, and watched a movie. Such a fun evening with great friends!!!!!

Beach Trip

The second week of July I had the privledge of going to the beach with three of my best friends. Drew's parents got him a beach trip for graduation, and he so generously asked me to go with him. He of course asked Erin to go, and he let us take Eliza as well! We left on a Saturday morning and headed to North Myrtle Beach.

We made it around 5 or so and got settled in our room and headed to the Nacho Hippo! I went there with my parents earlier this summer and it was so yummy. The atmosphere is super funky and cute and really fun. We had to wait a really long time for seats, and a watier wasn't great...but the nachos were yummy. At this place you can build your own nachos, and Eliza and I shared that!

The rest of the night we didn't do much but go to walmart with the rest of the people in North Myrtle! Sunday we got up that morning and made our way to the beach!!!! We spent most of our Sunday reading and laying on the beach, enjoying the sunshine, waves and each other!

Sunday evening we went to what was one of our favorite restaurants of the week. It isn't a very popular restaurant, but it is so yummy. It is called Empire Fire-Mongolian Grill! It is a buffet style restaurant, but all the veggies and meat are raw. You choose what you want and they cook it in front of you. We all ate for less than 15 bucks, and if you love suishi, they also have that! We almost caused a scene because our ridiculous laughter throughout our dining experience!

After dinner we went to Bearfoot Landing and walked around!

Monday day time was the same as Sunday, spending all day on the beach was great! Eliza purchased some paddle balls, so we worked on being paddle ball champs!!!!

Monday evening we ate in and some yummy spaghetti that Drew made and the ladies assisted with! We walked around down by our hotel and got to hold a parrot on our shoulder!!!! How cool is that! We also took some funny beach pictures before heading back to our hotel for some games (which we all know I love)!

Tuesday, Erin found out she got a 1st grade teaching job!!!! Wahoo!!!!!! We spent Tuesday on the beach again of course! Then went to a yummy seafood restaurant where I had super yummy fried fish that was soaked in grease. Then, we went to play putt putt...where I stunk it up!!!!!!

Wednesday we had plans to  stay on the beach until about 12:30 or so and then go to the all you can eat buffet at the Giant Crab. Eliza, Erin and I headed out, but it started raining on us and we had to come in earlier. We got ready and got the buffet for 5 bucks cheaper. I had never been to a buffet before so I was super excited! The girls finished in about an hour or so and and an hour later, Drew finished his 105 crab legs. After dinner, we headed to get 75 cent sunglassed and then  to Broadway at the Beach and people watched before we went to Crocodile Rock. It is a dueling Piano bar with amazing and talented piano players. Such a neat expereince!

Thursday was another fun day of beach weather and walking on the beach with two of my best girls!  We walked to kroger form our place and got ingredients to make chicken ranch tacos. They were so yummy, and since I was jabbering on the phone they snuck in a bag of peanut butter m & ms so we snacked on those after dinner while playing games! The highlight of the day was glow sticks on the beach! I was a rebel and busted mine and poured it all over me and the sand!

Friday was our last day on the beach before heading home and we had a rainy day. We spent the day at tanger, a cute little pink seafood restaurant, and the boardwalk! It was a nice relaxing day before heading home on Saturday.

It was such a fun trip with some of my best friends and fellow recent college grads!

Friday's Letters

Dear Room: You are now spotless and shiny and clean. I can walk from my bed to my bathroom to my door to my dresser...without stepping on anything but the freshly vacuumed carpet! My drawers have been cleaned out, my closet color cordinated and my toliet scrubbed. You look so nice and beautiful.

Dear Me: Please for your own sake, keep it clean for more than a week!

Dear Teachers: Do you ever feel like you are caught up? School hasn't even started and I already feel behind!!!!!!!

Dear Niece and Nephew: You are the cutest little boy and girl in the world...hands down. I'm not even being biased!

Dear Eliza: Please oh Please don't go move away from only an hour away. That makes me sad, but I'm still excited for you!!!!!! Praying for you too!

Dear Despicable Me 2: You were a great movie. So sweet, cute, and particulary funny. I felt a little awkward surrounded by lots of children, but nonetheless I enjoyed it and my company as well!

A Lit' Bit of Tidbits

-I totally had to look up the word tidbits on google. I wanted to write a post with random little ideas, thoughts, clever sayings, what have you..and wanted a clever title.

- I'm still not sure that tidbits is that right word I'm going for....oops!

-Carly and Jillian came down yesterday and we hung out by the pool. It was nice to catch up with them! We went to Carly's mom's zumba class and they had this grand idea of running.

-Speaking of running...I think running is of the devil. I honestly would rather do 3 hours of aerobics, zumba, swimming, dancing, yoga, than run a half a mile. I whole heartedly believe that there will be lots of running in Hell!

-Speaking of running...I need to workout. My mom made this oreo thing for a family get together. I love anything with oreos in it. I love oreo cheesecake, oreo ice cream, oreo blizzards, oreo milkshakes, oreo brownies, oreo cupcakes, oreos and peanut butter...basically take any dessert slap some oreos on it and I'm game!

-I worked on my classroom yesterday as well...it took me three hours...three hours...to clean out a cabinet and organize it. I am so overwhelmed with all that I have to do!!! I am sooo excited! More on all my classroom decoration ideas and things to come soon!

-I beat my mom at Rook the other night. For some of you, this isn't that big of a deal. If you know me, my mom, and the rest of my family, competition is a big deal. We had a family get together this week, and what is a Shelton get together without some Rook. Competition is intense...and I not only set my mom, but beat her with a 180 hand the last round. :) My mamma is 90 and still is a hardcore Rook player..if she bets on her hand, just watch out!
