His Mighty Protection

As mentioned in my posts I said I was later than expected to camp on the first night. I was scheduled to work 11-8 on Monday which stunk because I was going to miss my favorite food night of spaghetti, the first service, and the hyper/excitement feeling of all the campers coming in. That morning I woke up early with intentions of studying for my praxis test. I was at my house at school and I decided to make some baked chicken to take for my lunch break. Before leaving I made sure I had turned my oven off because I knew neither I nor Jillian would be back at the house for a couple of days. As I was enjoying my chicken on my lunch break I couldn't remember if I had turned the oven off. After calling Aimee for advice I decided to head to my house with just enough time to run in and check and run back to work. I got to my house, and of course my oven was off. On the way back to work about a block from the parking lot I hear a big thump, and then I knew what happened. My tire blew. Now if you know me, I am not an expert on tire changing. So here I am on the side of the road in my uniform fighting back tears, and this couple plus off with me. They quickly ask if I need help, with wide eyes fighting back tears I say yes please. I quickly call work and tell them what's going on because I'm already late getting back to work from lunch., This amazing Godly couple not only changed my tire, but pumped up my spare because the air in it was low. (they just happened to have an air pump in their car). As I thanked the lady over and over for her and her husband's help, she humbly assured me it was because of the Lord's timing and protection and nothing she had done. In twenty minutes I was already to go, after I gave her a hug for her sweet kindness. Yes, I Hannah gave a complete stranger a hug( a full frontal might I add). Now I'm sure you are thinking that I am being a overly dramatic girl about something so simple as a flat tire, but that isn't the point of my story. If I hadn't have gone home to check my oven then I could have been driving home in the dark from work, going much faster, in the rain, and I wouldn't have had that amazing couple behind me. I could have wrecked or been stranded on the side of the road alone for a while. Because of His protection and timing I was safe in His arms and in the path of that Godly couple.

I Love Camp!!!!!!! There is something about Camp Greene that warms my soul. When I step foot on the grounds I get this overwhelming feeling of God. I was ten years old my first year at camp, and I've never stopped going. From the time I was 10 till I was 18 I was a camper and from the ages of 15-18 I went two weeks in a row. Now I am just a counselor and I miss being a camper so much, I've tried to talk them into having a camp for college students, but it's not working so far. One reason that this camp has such a special place in my heart is because it is the very place that I gave my life to the Lord. I was always the loud and crazy hyper camper, so now as a counselor I've been given those same exact campers. I've been blessed in the fact that for most of them I've had for the past four years. I've enjoyed getting to create relationships with them and get to know them and see them grow into beautiful young girls.

This week of camp was so good unfortunately Monday I had to work so I didn't make it to camp till around ten Monday night which is another story for another post. I got there just in time for camp fires and led a few songs in my food city uniform. I have no idea why I, the person with no singing voice leads songs, but I secretly love it. This rest of the week consisted of a counselor hunt where I hid in the tall grass for an hour and a half without getting found thank you very much, nor did I get poison ivy. Camp songs at the flag pole, crafts, wonderful conferences, water games, shaving cream fights, my girls getting my phone and convincing David to propose to me, gaining 7 honorary bridesmaids, spending time with great camp friends, learning about not being generic through wonderful services, worshiping with wonderful middle school kids, giggling and dancing with 7 silly girls, coming back from work to a messy room, swimming, skits, laughter, and the Lord. I got to have a wonderful conversation with my girls on the last night of camp. None of them made decisions that night, but it was wonderful to be able to witness the Lord stirring questions in their hearts and getting to share that moment with a special friend the Lord has blessed me with through camp. I love camp, and I pray that camp impacts those girls as much as it has me.

The Start of Summertime

So yeah, it's  been summer for a month now, but hey I've been having fun!
I've been to Asheville with David. We tried Cuban food which was pretty good. I wasn't too impressed, but I still enjoyed the meal. We walked around Asheville for a while and had a good day together!

My family came in for a week. We got to spend some time together by the pool and playing with the babies. We also had pictures made by Picsee Studios and I can't wait to see them! They were super sweet ladies, and I love their work. I loved having my entire family in for the week because it is very rare that we are all together.
Erin, Carly, and I danced/sung/played the piano at church while my family was in. I love that we all three got to share our own ways of worshiping God together.

I was also able to teach bible school again this year. I love working with those preschool kids, they are hilarious. One little girl protested that she didn't like Jesus, hopefully her thought process changed throughout the week.
