Weekend to Visit Ashley

A few weeks ago I drove down to visit Ashley and go see our favorite band. Ashley introduced me to Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors in college and I fell in love with their music. I'm a little bit of an old woman when it comes to music because I can never understand what the lyrics are saying. I am the queen of making up my own lyrics when singing in the car. However, I love Drew and Ellie. Unfortunately, Ellie has stopped touring with her husband and the band to spend time with their daughter. I was really hoping that she would make an appearance at the concert, but she didnt. Their music is very chill and I like it. His lyrics are sweet and simple and I can understand what he is saying.
I drove down Saturday morning all by myself without gettnig lost or getting nervous. We just hung out at her house for a while before we headed out to do some shopping. We went to Old Navy and bought some cute dresses and jewlery (it was some sort of deal with the dresses that we fell victim to). Then, we went and got some tots and drinks from Sonic and headed back to sit on her porch and just talk about life. We both graduated last year and are adjusting to "adulthood" at home. She began her nursing job at the end of the summer so we are both kind of in the same boat. Even though we have different careers we can still relate to the change of life we are going through...plus we can talk about those boys of ours :)

After our girl talk we got ready to head downtown for the concert. We met Carly and Jillian downtown who had also came for the concert. We met at a yummy local taco restaurant. It wasn't exactly what you might expect. It had lots of different versions of tacos including a ranch chicken taco, sloppy joe taco, and a regular chicken mexican taco. I don't even remember what I got but I know it was yummy. We enjoyed catching up with the girls over dinner and of course having a little boy talk too. After dinner we went to a gellato place next door. I guess I didn't understand what gellato was because the flavors were soooo random. They had a strawberry flavor, but decided to ruin it with something random like peppers or something. I just chose chocolate and thought it was ok. I did enjoy the fellowship that we had with silly pictures and uncontrollable laughter from me and Carly.

We decided it was time to head over to the concert and got to ride a security golf cart right up to the door. Judah and the Lion opened for Drew Holcomb and even though I didn't know the songs they put on a fun show. Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors put on a great show, even though Ellie didn't show up like I was hoping. Although I like him much better with his wife I thought it was great. He played some of my favorite songs and I enjoyed the evening with the girls.

We headed back to Ashley's and both fell asleep pretty quickly, aparently we are old. We woke up the next morning for church and ate lunch at Zaxby's. It was a great weekend to catch up with my best friend.
