Year in Review 2013

There were many changes this past year and here are some highlights of year 2013.

January

In January I began student teaching with a great mentor and teaching team. I also got to student teach right next door to Erin!

I also bought a new car and said bye bye to Bertha!

February 

Nothing too exciting happened, but I was reminded of what great friends I had! 

March 

 I got to go to my tenth youth convention with the youth group from my church. 

I got to spend spring break and  Easter with my brother and his family

April 

I finished student teaching in kindergarten and finished up the last couple weeks in a fourth grade classroom. I had a great student teaching experience and really enjoyed my semester where I was placed. 

I went to an awesome concert put on by Train (my last ETSU concert as a student :( so sad ). I spent the night eating dinner, going to the concert, and getting dessert with my three best friends.

May

So much happened in May. It marked the beginnings of a new chapter and the end of another chapter. College ended and it was bittersweet. I was excited and scared about the new season of life, but I loved college. I made lifelong friends and really enjoyed my college expereince. I grew a lot in my faith because of my involvemnet with The Well and I already miss college like crazy.

After graduation I began applying for jobs and visiting schools. I interviewed for a first grade position and found out that I had been offered the postion while I was at church camp. A fellow camp/teacher friend was able to capture my reaction shortly after I heard the good news. 

June

In June I helped with Junior Camp and Junior High Camp at Camp Greene. I was able to lead conferences at each of the camps plus have two great groups of girls. 

Nathan and I finally became an official couple, going steady, facebook official, boyfriend/girlfriend, courting, or whatever you wanna call it!

July 

In July I went to the beach with three of my best friends and we had a blast. It was a week of games, adventures with birds, nutella, crab legs, and fun!

I worked my last day at Food City where I worked throughout my whole time in college. I also cut my finger open on my last day. 

August

In August I started my new job as a first grade teacher and was in my best friends wedding!

September 

In September I went to Fall Retreat with the youth group. I hadn't been to Fall Retreat since high school and I was excited to go back. Erin and I along with another male counselor were the ones in charge until our youth pastor got there late that morning on Friday. I had to be a co-pilot on the way to the retreat and got us there safely. (Nathan is a good direction giver) I've always loved retreat and even though it was really rainy Saturday it was still a good weekend with great kids, plus I got to see Nathan since he worked there. 

 October 

I was a counselor at Children's Fall Retreat at Camp Greene and also lost a thumb nail.

November 

My brother got married and I got to be a bridesmaid.

December 

I was able to spend Christmas with my entire family and play lots of games full of friendly competition.

    

2012 in Review

Last year I made a year in review for 2011, you can read that here. 2012 was another year that I was blessed with from the one above, and I am so glad I was able to share it with everyone around me.

January

I got to go to Passion in Atlanta, Georgia the first few days of January. It was absolutely amazing. I learned so much and God truly broke me of some things, and I was able to hear him speak to me through 80 million people in the Georgia Dome. Ok it wasn't 80 million people, but there were a lot of people there. I will never forget the feeling that I got when I worship along side of so many college students. Such a great experience before the busyness of life began again.

February

On February 11th a new addition was welcomed to my family. Look at those sweet baby cheeks. I can't wait to play dress up and dolls with this baby girl.

March

In March I made a trip to visit C, Jason, and Traci, and see baby R for the first time. It was the first time I flew by myself, and despite losing my plane ticket in my shoe for a brief minute traveling alone went by without a hitch.

April

 I had my last night with all my Class 15' kids. It was a great year and it was so nice to meet all of these crazy freshman and learn from them through our bible study.

May

I got teach a conference at the Junior Kid camp at Camp Greene. It was a great experience, and I taught my conference using a Full House episode. After some technical difficulties it went smoothly. 

June

I got to be a church camp counselor for the 4th year in a row, and it was a great week with my crazy 6th graders.

July

I moved out of my house in Johnson City to move back home to student teach. It was such a great year with these two ladies and I have missed them greatly.

August

I went on my first big girl beach trip without the parents. I had a great time, and I also had crab legs for the very first time. Way too much work! haha

September

I don't have a picture of this, but I started observing in the classroom that I am placed. I love it and I am so blessed to be where I am!

October

I ran in the best 5k ever!!!!!

November

Was a busy month, and I can't honestly think of anything special that I did. I have no pictures from that month either. I did travel with David for an interview in Nashville. He is leaving tomorrow because that interview was successful and he landed that internship.

December

I went to an amazing Drew and Ellie concert. It was such a chill concert and they are so talented!

2011 in Review

Even though we are already through day 8 of the new year, I was influenced by Aimee's blog to write about my year in review. I'm a little behind, but I've already thought of all I wanna post about each month so here it is.

January

 I got to bring in the new year with some great friends at my house and we even drank sparkling grape juice out of fancy glasses!!

February 

 David and I celebrated our one year! For my present he "surprised" me by taking me to see the Lady Vols play. He even did this on his birthday, points for him!

March

 This picture is from a random day of "studying" at the park with my roommates. It was random, but one of my favorite memories from the semester with these three. I also got admitted into the education program, but I don't have a picture of it. 

April

I got to watch the sunrise on Viking Mountain with my friends on Easter Sunday. It was worth the early morning rise on little sleep. 

May

I got to go to Peru and experience God in ways that I never have, but will always remember.

June

I got to go to church camp again, and I am so blessed to have this camp to serve with. I love these little girls, even if they ate all my oreos!

      I also got to go to the beach with David and his family. Although, David took 28 million dollars from me and all his sisters when I had a "Just Say No" card I had a wonderful time!

July

I got to go to  the beach with my family as well. We played lots of games, spent lots of time on the beach, and played with C!

August

I moved into my house with the girls. First "adult" move with bills and such. 

  I also got to go celebrate C's first birthday were I found out that I was going to be an aunt again!!!

September

 I was a part of my first flash mob with ministry team, and it was super fun. I also got to take part in my very first Cupcake War with Class 15'. It was dirty, but so much fun!

October

 I got to go to Asheville with Carly, OJ and David over fall break and I got to try Thai food for the very first time. It was a very beautiful drive through the mountains because of all the leaves changing.

Carly and I dressed up as Mario and Luigi for Halloween!

November

 I had a spaghetti dinner and game night with my Class 15'. The girls kicked butt at Catch Phrase.

Decemeber

I got to spend Christmas with my entire family!
